"The 2015 Spätburgunder Ida Landwein Oberrhein is a new release coming from a 35-year-old vineyard outside the original Buntsandstein plot. It is planted with other clones, too, and is named after the former owner. Just a single barrique has been produced and the sample shows a fresh and very elegant reduction on the nose. Silky, juicy, ripe and fleshy, but fresh, precise and linear on the palate. This is a full-bodied, sweet and pretty intense, but also spicy and herbal-flavored Pinot. It has the firm structure and racy acidity of the sandstone terroir. An impressive and vital Pinot."
