The “2024 Collection World Tour” hoodie celebrates the Saar, Saar Riesling, and Florian Lauer’s twenty-year career at the helm of this estate.
This is the ultimate (and the only?) Lauer merchandise we know of. And it will only be available until the end of January.
When off-dry January is over, this hoodie is gone and it will never come back. (Note, you will be purchasing this as pre-arrival. No hoodies will ship until later February.)
While the front art celebrates the Saar with design references to the iconic labels of Weingut Peter Lauer, the back of the hoodie lists every one of the twenty-five wines that Florian made in the 2024 vintage. Keep in mind Florian only works about thirteen hectares, which means that, on average, at least with vintage 2024, he made a unique wine from every half-hectare he farmed.
This is the specificity of terroir at its most beautiful, its most sublime, its most absurd. This is the culture of German wine making. We honor it.
For the true wine dork, this hoodie is also a great reference to the estate’s general classification system, listing all of the 2024 Lauer wine labels, along with vineyard names, bottle numbers, AP numbers, percentage alcohols, residual sugars, and acidities.
No longer will you have to look away in awkward shame when you can’t remember the residual sugar and acidity of, for example, the 2024 Neuenberg (only 2.1 grams RS with 6.7 grams acid).
We are going to use two different hoodie manufacturers, just to keep this appropriately complicated. First, we’ll offer Champion-brand hoodies – durable, well-made, quality construction and, relatively well priced at $50, which includes shipping within the continental U.S. Hoodies will be shipped out in late February. No international shipments, sorry.
We will also offer Carhartt-brand hoodies for those looking for both a sturdier, and more expensive, option. Keep in mind we’re making basically no money on either of these things. The $115 price tag includes shipping within the continental U.S. No international shipments, sorry.
