I’m told the French word “Carambolage” means “collision” in English; Google translate confirms this to be the case. This is Dostert’s calling card wine and for him one of the most important wines he makes. For this NV blend we have a super unique blend of direct press Chardonnay, Elbling and Pinot Gris from 2023 blended with a light, 100% whole cluster, carbonic maceration Pinot Noir from 2022.

| Mosel Fine Wines | The N.V. Gros Karambolage (with L-Nr. 1-24) is a Rosé wine made from a blend of Pinot Noir from 2022 and Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, and Elbling from 2023 which were fermented and aged in 228-liter used oak barrels along natural lines, i.e. without any intervention and was bottled unfiltered and with little SO2 added (30 mg/l). This deep fading-rose-pink-colored wine offers a very subtle nose of red currant, blackberry, herbs, and smoke. The wine is beautifully firm and structured on the palate and leaves a nicely deep yet focused feel of herbs and red berried fruits in the finish. This beautiful Rosé wine will offer much pleasure over the coming years! | No. 76 July 2025 |
