Formerly named “Felsenfest”, Vollenweider’s entry-level dry wine from slate soils in steep-slope vineyards in and around the village of Traben-Trarbach. The fruit for this wine comes from three sites—the Wolfer Goldgrube where the estate has the most holdings; old vines in the Trarbacher Burgberg, contributing freshness, structure, and precision; and from the south-facing Kröver Steffensberg, where blue slate soils lend the wine an early accessibility and open, inviting character.

Mosel Fine Wines

The 2025 Mosel Riesling, as it is simply written on the front label, was made from the Kröver Steffensberg (2/3) and from Trabener Burgberg and young vines in the Wolfer Goldgrube (1/3) and was fermented in stainless-steel tank (90%) and wooden cask (10%). It delivers a beautifully floral and zesty nose of minty herbs, aniseed, spices, wild herbs, white minerals, and smoke. The wine proves tangy and herbal on the palate, with plenty of citrusy fruits and tense acidity. There are good presence, grip, and intensity. The finish is fully bone-dry in taste and delivers great mouth- watering and fine tartness, and huge length. This is a beautiful light, bone-dry, and lively Riesling.
