This parcel is close to the Rochus Chapel in Nittel, at around 280 metres above sea level. As one of the highest vineyards, it yields the last grapes of the season, year after year. The soil varies between gypsum and clay layers – a vineyard not easy to under- stand or to cultivate. The cool climate consistently keeps the expression of Pinot Gris subtle. Direct-pressed and vinified in 228 and 500 L oak barrels with minimal sulfur addition.

| Mosel Fine Wines | The Pinot Gris 2024, as it is referred to on the central part of the label, with L-Nr. 5-26 was made from vines planted in 2014 and was fermented and aged in oak barrels (228 liters) and tonneau (500 liters) along natural lines, i.e. without intervention, and bottled after a rough filtering and with little SO2 added (30 mg/l). It delivers a beautifully refined and subtly floral nose of jasmine, acacia, bergamot, orange blossom, cinnamon, thyme, and may tree, all wrapped in fine natural spiciness. The wine is nicely juicy and smooth on the comparatively light-weighted and delicate palate. It then gains in presence and intensity and leaves a superbly aromatic and long finish. This Pinot Gris, with minimal natural influences, is excellent to enjoy and has great depth. | No. 81 July 2026 |
