This wine comes from a south-west facing parcel at 240 m above sea level, close to the beautiful and famous “Nitteler Fels”, and was planted in 2015. It is Dostert’s interpretation of a Pinot Noir from the Obermosel, based on a diverse blend of German and French DNA. Every year it is vinified with 100% whole bunches. Vinification in used 228 L oak barrels with minimal sulfur addition.

The Pinot Noir 2024, as it is referred to on the central part of the label, with L-Nr. 6-26 was made with whole bunch fruit macerated for 10 days and was fermented and aged along natural lines, i.e. without intervention, in a 1-year-old and 6-year-old 228-liter oak barrels from Burgundy before being bottled in April 2026 unfiltered and with little SO2 added (30 mg/l). Light cherry-red in color, the nose immediately reveals a fresh, even slightly undercooled character, with notes of black pepper, red pepper, minty herbs, toast, bay leaf, cassis leaf, and licorice. On the palate, the wine is light and zesty, with light but still noticeable tannins, and above all that undercooled yet more floral profile, which is very pleasant. It is reminiscent of young Burgundies of fine provenance, as they were produced 30 years ago or more. It will clearly take a few years for the wine to develop fully and reveal its potential. This Pinot is for lovers of the old-school style.
