Kissinger-BährRiesling Pettenthal 2024 (750ml)

Kissinger‘s acquisition of less than two hectares total (!) in the fabled Roter Hang has become one of the more talked about additions to the landscape of Grand Cru dry German Riesling. Rarely does a place with such a deep history come into the hands a winemaker just beginning to define his signature and style.

We first barrel-tasted these wines in late-summer of last year: They are dense, almost brooding, with a compact yet formidable power. In the stunning, and cool, 2024 vintage, they flaunt a rather polished yet stern acidity. They are impressive and statuesque. What a vintage for a premiere!

The Pettenthal is perhaps the most powerful; it is also the most herbal, the most structured. This is a wine for the ages.
