Mosel Fine Wines | The 2022er Trarbacher Riesling Trocken is a bone-dry wine (with 2 g/l of residual sugar) which comes from fruit picked in the Schlossberg and Taubenhaus. This yellow-colored wine offers a still rather backward nose initially marked by residual scents from its spontaneous fermentation. These give only gradually way to grapefruit, earthy spices, a dash of whipped cream, ginger, and smoke. The wine is dry but superbly elegant on the palate with a present but incredibly well integrated acidity. It is subtly tart but also packed with fine spices, a bit of orchard fruits, and herbal elements. The finish is smooth with perfectly integrated and beautifully ripe acidity and great length. This dry wine made in a beautiful Kabinett style is an incredible success! | No 66 June 2023 |
