The Gelbe Weide or “yellow willow” is the warmest parcel in the Goldgrube, just a single 500L barrel was made for the first time in 2023. This parcel of old vines is all trained on single poles (the most traditional, but also the hardest and most time-consuming style to work) and the pressure of farming this organically is incredibly high, but Moritz is committed to keeping this parcel alive.
A more substantial wine than the Wolfer, there is a touch of vanilla and spices like cinnamon and ginger in addition to the minerality of Vollenweider with intensity, depth and texture. Like the other Grand Cru dry wines, this is on the lees for over a year before bottling.

| Mosel Fine Wines | The Wolfer 2023, as it is referred to on the consumer label, is a bone-dry wine made from 80-year-old vines trained on single pole in this prime sector orientated full south of the Wolfer Goldgrube and was left for one year on its gross lees. It offers a superb nose made of passion fruit, spices, laurel, and smoke. The wine proves beautifully precise and subtly fruity on the palate and leaves a great feel of fresh fruits in the long finish. This is a gorgeous dry wine with huge upside potential as it integrates its elements, which will happen in a few years. | No 75, July 2025 |
