Weiser-KünstlerRiesling Sekt Brut Nature 2023 (750ml)

The 2023er Riesling Sekt Brut Nature (the reference to the name is only provided on the back label, the front label simply shows an owl) was made from the Trarbacher Schlossberg and was fermented and aged in wooden cask before being bottled in May 2024 and aged on its lees for 24 months and then disgorged without dosage in May 2026 (the disgorgement date is not provided on the back label). It offers a beautifully attractive and aromatic nose of brioche, almond cream, yellow peach, pear, tar, spices, cinnamon, and red apple. The mousse is still quite present and gives way to fine, riper elements adding to the riper side. Yet the finish brings in great, zesty acidity which cleanses the whole and gives a very focused and lively feel. The aftertaste is herbal and mouth-watering, with a hint of tartness in need of integration. This is a superb Riesling Sekt Brut Nature, which needs a year or two in bottle before true pleasure.
